Matthews Memorial Hospital Association operates a two physician clinic at Richards Landing, 60 kilometers east of Sault Ste. Marie. The clinic serves a catchment area that encompasses 5500 residents in 8 small rural municipalities from Echo Bay to Bruce Mines including St. Joseph Island. In addition to clinical care, physicians provide emergency care on an on-call basis at Matthews Memorial Hospital which is located next door to the clinic.
Family physicians provide emergency care at Matthews Memorial Hospital on a 1:2 on-call basis. A number of provincial programs and enhancements enable MMHA to offer an unmatched compensation package. Remuneration includes:
- Our alternate payment plan is the Rural and Northern Physician Group Agreement (RNPGA), group 2. This includes an annual salary, maternity leave, 5% shadow billing, 20% bonus on ER shadow billing, Continuing Medical Education and annual preventive care bonuses, among others. - Overhead paid at a maximum of 44% of the salary
- Established turnkey clinic with fully equipped private office and two exam rooms, EMR, and experienced, dedicated staff
- Annual paid leave 37 days - including CME, plus 10 statutory holidays.
- ER fees for evening, weekend and holiday hospital coverage
- May be eligible for the Northern Physician Retention Initiative (NRRR)
