Blind River is a rural northeastern Ontario community situated along the Trans-Canada corridor on the shores of Lake Huron! Blind River is less than 2 hours away from either Sault Ste. Marie or Sudbury. The Blind River District Health Centre delivers quality health services to a community of approximately 4000 people with a catchment area of 8000 which includes some First Nations. It boasts a state of the art new facility with 16 acute care beds, 10 complex continuing care beds and 32 long term care beds on site. Adjacent to the Health Centre is a subsidized fully equipped medical clinic currently staffed with 4 family practitioners who are supported by a solid pool of physicians. Plans to expand this clinic are in the works as the Huron Shores Family Health Team comes to fruition!

The Health Centre maintains 24 hour Emergency Services with access to Medial Imaging and Laboratory Services; completing its delivery is Physiotherapy Department and Visiting Specialist Program which includes Cardiology, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Internal Medicine, and others..

Our family physicians are part of a Family Health Organization and are co-located with a Family Health Team that includes allied health care professionals such as Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, a Social Worker and Pharmacist. Our incentives include:
